The first edition of the Ludogorie Marathon took place on July 27, 2014 in two disciplines – running and MTB, both 21 km. Since 2015, it has 42 km of cycling, 12 km running and duathlon. For the first time in the 2016 edition, we started the marathon distance of 42 km running. Since 2019, swimming in Pchelina lake and triathlon have been included. Each edition also offers two kilometers kids’run.

The Ludogorie Marathon is held in the forests of the Pchelina Recreation Area and in the Ostrovche Protected Area. The trails are almost entirely in the forest, along dirt roads and paths, without crossing intensive roads. The starts are on the last Sunday in July and swimming starts the day before.

Green Foot Club was founded in Razgrad on March 7, 2014. The foundations of the club are based on the promotion of healthy lifestyle and adventure sports. Green Foot organizes the Easter Run in Razgrad, Kamchia Sands sand half marathon, Ludogorski marathon (running, cycling and swimming) and Via Pontica cross-border marathon.
